The Good

I might be in the minority here, but I absolutely loved the Eddie Guerrero versus JBL top-liner. This was the former Bradshaw's first major match since turning heel, going solo and reinventing himself as a JR Ewing style character.

The match was bloody, brutal and quite epic. Of course, everyone remembers it for the truly ridiculous amount of blood the champion spilled, but it was chugging along nicely before that gory blade job went down, too. JBL won via DQ, setting up another grudge match the next month at the Great American Bash.

The only other half decent thing on the show was the opener, which pitter high-flying babyfaces Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio against the Dudley Boys.

The Bad

Just about everything else. Judgment Day 2004 was one of the poorest PPV undercards you're likely to see, with such classics as Torrie Wilson Vs. Dawn Marie No. 2,565, Mordecai Vs. Scotty Too Hotty, Chavo Guerrero Vs. Jacqueline and Charlie Haas & Rico Vs. Hardcore Holly & Billy Gunn.

The matches that should have delivered (Undertaker Vs. Booker T and Rene Dupree Vs. John Cena), really didn't, meaning that the show was bookended by two decent matches but the rest was skippable.

The Rest

Latino Heat lost so much blood in the main event that he went into shock backstage after the event and had to be taken to hospital. He refused a blood transfusion (against doctor's orders) but did let them stitch up his mammoth wound. It required sixteen stitches to close and the whole episode left Guerrero weakened for days.
