Rave-Reviewed Tag Team GONE From WWE

NXT's loss could be another promotion's gain...

The team most recently known as The Dyad have departed WWE, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Their contracts have purportedly expired, which actually conflicts with information provided by Rip Fowler (formerly Zack Gibson) on Twitter/X back in April of this year. Revealing that WWE had denied a release request made on April 3, Gibson remained adamant that he was leaving - and would so as a free agent on October 15. Jagger Reid (James Drake) echoed his sentiments on the same platform. He too insisted that he would leave WWE as soon as was practicable.

It is not known at this time whether WWE had offered the pair new deals.

The Dyad formed part of the critically derided Schism stable, but as the Grizzled Young Veterans, Gibson and Drake generated considerable critical acclaim for their work in PROGRESS Wrestling, NXT UK and NXT.

Matches against MSK (NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day 2021) and Moustache Mountain (NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool) were rave-reviewed. Even under the Dyad guise, a full-speed, action-packed six-man tag alongside Joe Gacy opposite Mustafa Ali, Tyler Bate and Wes Lee on the June 13, 2023 NXT generated an enthusiastic response.

Gibson has also drawn much praise for his ability to generate heat on promos.
