Ray Fenix will miss the Casino Ladder Match at Saturday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view, following an injury sustained on Dynamite this past week.

AEW confirmed on Friday evening that Fenix will be replaced by Joey Janela in the contest, whilst also stating that the sidelined star is not "expected to miss significant time."

A final mystery entrant for the contest, which gifts the winner an opportunity to challenge for the AEW World Championship at some point down the line, is still to be announced.

Fenix hurt himself during a match with Orange Cassidy on television this past Wednesday. As a clutch of fellow Casino Ladder Match contestants were brawling on the outside, the Lucha Bros. star attempted a springboard dive onto the crowd. He missed, and landed on his back.

Yesterday, a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggested Fenix would make Saturday's pay-per-view. Obviously, AEW have had second thoughts about risking the superstar, who we imagine would have been raring to go regardless.

Replacement Janela joins Darby Allin, Scorpio Sky, Colt Cabana, Kip Sabian, Frankie Kazarian and Luchasaurus in Double or Nothing's ladder match. The objective is to grab a giant poker chip hanging above the ring, with the winner receiving an AEW title shot.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
