NXT Champion Karrion Kross, Scarlett and NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed were all present backstage at last night's taping of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX, according to PWInsider.com.

The two current NXT title holders were there to perform in a set of dark matches as a way of showing WWE officials what they're both capable of.

It's not been confirmed at this time who the pair wrestled in said dark matches, or if they went one-on-one against each other during the showcase of sorts.

The site also reported earlier that there has been talk over the last week of the current NXT Champion Kross and Scarlett being called up to the main roster soon. Yet, when it comes to Reed, it still isn't completely clear whether WWE are considering bringing the current mid-card title holder up to the main roster in the near future.

Both stars successfully defended their gold at the recent NXT TakeOver: In Your House event, with Reed, alongside NXT Tag Team Champions MSK, seeing off Legado del Fantasma in a Winner-Takes-All match and Kross getting the better of Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Pete Dunne in an epic Fatal-Five Way in the main event.
