Real Reason Jeff Hardy Is Getting MAJOR WWE Push

Big things lie in Jeff Hardy's immediate future. Here's why.

Jeff Hardy wasn't in the building for last week's episode of WWE SmackDown from the Performance Center but still emerged as one of the stars of the show, as the promotion aired a "special look" at the returning star courtesy of WWE 24, putting him over as a major star and presenting his comeback story as something worth investing in as they prepare to push him on television.

The reason WWE is giving Jeff this renewed focus is simple: competition, baby.

A new report from Wrestling Inc.'s Paul Davis states that while Vince McMahon is high on Jeff after being impressed with his determination to overcome the struggles in his personal life, the WWE Chairman is also motivated to show Hardy that "he will be treated well and that WWE is the better option for him." On top of this, a big-money contract offer likely awaits the veteran.

That Jeff's brother Matt recently crossed over to All Elite Wrestling may have spurred this. The elder Hardy spoke about the possibility on a recent Talk Is Jericho episode, trotting out "never say never" without committing too strongly on whether or not he'd get to work with his brother again.

Jeff last wrestled on the 13 March episode of SmackDown, overcoming Baron Corbin in little over two minutes.
