Real Reason Matt Hardy Is NOT Done With WWE Yet

Company has decided to extend his angle with Randy Orton anyway.

Randy Orton Matt Hardy

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Matt Hardy turned down WWE's offer of a contract extension recently, and that's why he was written off TV during that Raw angle with Randy Orton last week.

Or so everyone thought.

WWE has announced a 'No Holds Barred' match between Hardy and Orton for Monday's Raw on their official website, and Satin says the company decided to press on with the angle despite Matt knocking their new deal back. They were apparently impressed by fan response to Randy's con-chair-to and are eager to kill another week's television by extending the mini-feud.

According to Satin's sources, there's "heavy interest from other promotions" in signing Hardy once his current WWE contract expires in March. That means fans could be seeing Matt in AEW, ROH, Impact, the NWA, New Japan or somewhere else right after WrestleMania season ends.

He'd be an excellent fit for All Elite's roster of veterans; Matt would complement the likes of Dustin Rhodes and Chris Jericho nicely.

For now though, he's scheduled for a brawl with Orton. In the short-term, it's a match many will be looking forward to, and could give Hardy a fittingly-hardcore send off.
