Is there any better way to kick off a PPV in 1999 than this match-up? The Hardy Boys did not wrestle on the show, instead only being tasked with interfering in Edge and Christian's (decent) Tag Team Title match against The New Age Outlaws. The evening after Unforgiven on Raw was the start of the Terri Invitational Tournament best-of-five series between the two young teams. Why not kick the tournament off proper at Unforgiven? In this rebooking, that first tournament match would be brought forward a night. It would be announced a couple of weeks in advance and Terri introduce and sit ringside for it. After twelve-fifteen minutes of cutting-edge tag team action, Edge and Christian would win after botched interference from the leader of the New Brood, Gangrel. Then for the next month you can have the other tournament matches and still do the blow-off ladder match at No Mercy.
