Released AEW Wrestler Planning To Start His Own Promotion
A former AEW man has plans in place to kick off his own promotion this September.
Former AEW worker Marko Stunt plans to start his own pro wrestling promotion this September.
Stunt, who was part of All Elite's Jurassic Express stable before being released in May, told NBC Sports Boston that the upstart company will be based primarily in Memphis, Tennessee - that's where lil' Marko lives, so it makes sense.
Marko has also been helping out with another independent promotion to learn the ropes and figure out how to run things properly behind the scenes. That, he reckons, will stand him in good stead when his new organisation begins promoting shows in two months.
The ex-AEW man described this unnamed indy fed as his "biggest goal right now".
Stunt is mindful of getting "that initial pop" from fans before things fizzle out. He's keen to make his new promotion a sustainable success, and knows he'll have to book the thing realistically to achieve it. That, presumably, means Marko won't be making the same mistakes AOP did with their doomed WES idea.
Keep an eye out for Stunt's new venture later this year. Again, it has a September start date and will be local.
