Released Tag-Team Talk WWE's "Ridiculous Political Ball Game"

Adapting to WWE's stringent system was a real struggle for this wrestling tag-team.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had trouble going from New Japan freedom to WWE's more restrictive political system.

The tag-team told Busted Open Radio that it wasn't easy to say pretty much anything they liked in Japan then get handed scripts in Vince McMahon's fed. Gallows had been in the company before, but even he thought it was challenging to remember things word-for-word.

Meanwhile, Anderson forgot a key promo line during the pair's first dark match promo and got ribbed about it backstage by everyone from Road Dogg to Triple H - at least they saw the funny side, and at least Karl's verbal flub didn't air on TV.

Anderson described WWE's system as a "ridiculous political ball game". Both became so scared of saying the wrong thing that it paralysed their performances. On that, Gallows said that "reciting lines naturally" was an alien concept in the promotion when they joined in 2016.

Eventually, The Good Brothers managed to get up to speed. Karl said they "mastered it" before leaving, but he was never truly comfortable with the scripted stuff or WWE's expectations that things would be read verbatim.
