Released WWE Wrestlers Upset With Booking Before Being Cut?
Voicing their discontent may have worked against these wrestlers during last week's releases...
Several WWE wrestlers amongst the group let go by the company last week had complained about their booking before being released.
This is according to Dave Meltzer, who noted on the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that he had heard from two sources that a couple of unnamed, cut wrestlers had voiced their discontent.
Meltzer stated that one had "pouted" after not being brought to WrestleMania. Another, meanwhile, had expressed discontent at their booking. While he didn't explicitly say that this was the reason these wrestlers were let go, he said that making these moves probably wouldn't have helped a "marginal talent" in a situation like this.
Again, no specific names were mentioned.
Last Thursday saw WWE releases 10 wrestlers on the one-year anniversary of Black Wednesday (15 April 2020), when the promotion released or furloughed dozens of wrestlers, producers, and other staff members at the onset of the global pandemic.
Samoa Joe, Mickie James, The IIconics, and Mojo Rawley were amongst the wrestlers let go. There's currently no word on where any of these names may end up, though each is bound to a standard 90-day non-compete clause expiring on 14 July.
