Renee Young To Appear On Both WWE Raw & SmackDown From Now On
Is this an acceptable compromise following Talking Smack's cancellation?
John Cena might be the biggest free agent in WWE at the moment, but he's no longer alone in his freedom to switch between brands.
As per an official announcement on WWE.com, broadcaster Renee Young will be working both Raw and SmackDown going forward. Originally sent to the blue brand after the 2016 draft, she interviewed Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle on this week's Raw, and appeared in the same backstage role on SD the following night.
Though a valued member of WWE's broadcast team, Young's future direction has been brought into question lately. She only found out about Talking Smack's recent cancellation as a weekly post-SmackDown show through Twitter, and wasn't shy in voicing her displeasure afterwards:-
Young and former co-host Daniel Bryan presented Smacking Talk, a rib on their old weekly show, through social media on Tuesday night, with the company eventually endorsing it on their official website as well.
This is likely an acceptable compromise for Young, who can now work with her husband Dean Ambrose once again. The couple were separated in April's Superstar Shake-Up, and given the disappointment surrounding Talking Smack's cancellation, perhaps this is WWE's attempt at keeping the respected broadcaster happy.
