Adam Cole's current WWE contract expires this coming August, meaning that as things stand, he only has two months of contracted life left with the world's biggest wrestling promotion.

This is according to a new report from Wrestling Inc.

There is currently no indication that Cole is actively looking to leave the company, nor has there been any talk on whether or not he and WWE have held negotiations yet. For now, his future is up in the air, though it's hard to imagine many betting men putting money on him leaving the company, given his lofty status there.

NXT Champion for a full calendar year, a top black-and-gold brand merch-mover, and one of the most over performers in North American wrestling, Cole is living a good life under WWE employ. On top of this, reports state he'll be heading for either Raw or SmackDown if he does end up inking a new deal.

Cole's girlfriend, Britt Baker, has expressed a desire to see the Undisputed Era leader jump to AEW someday.

This Sunday night will see Adam defend the NXT Championship in a Backlot Brawl against Velveteen Dream at TakeOver: In Your House.
