Report: “At Least” Two Surprises Planned For IMPACT Slammiversary 2021

New details on what will go down at IMPACT Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view.

IMPACT Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view is fast approaching on Saturday, 17 July, building up anticipation with surprises aplenty expected. A new Fightful Select report confirms there will be at least two going down on the night.

The report states that this includes one recently released WWE star, as well as some non-WWE names, one of whom is currently under contract elsewhere.

This was always going to be the case, with IMPACT first teasing the Black Thursday releases in a trailer released during their Rebellion pay-per-view in April, with Mickie James, the IIconics, and Chelsea Green, amongst others, all featured. That trailer did, however, also feature talent away from WWE, ranging from Kazuchika Okada to the Great Muta.

Exactly who will appear at Slammiversary remains to be seen. It's been noted that Chelsea Green has been in talks with IMPACT executives, whereas Mickie James - who's set to be an executive producer for the NWA Empower pay-per-view - was referenced on last Thursday's IMPACT with Kiera Hogan finding a trash bag labeled "Mickie".

Last year's Slammiversary saw IMPACT follow a similar route following Black Wednesday. Eric Young, the Good Brothers, Heath, and EC3 all debuted/returned to IMPACT that evening, while the Motor City Machine Guns and Rich Swann both returned also.
