Cody Rhodes was adamant about wrestling at WWE Hell In A Cell 2022 last night despite his torn pectoral muscle being a known fact prior to the show.

This is according to Fightful Select, who reported before the premium live event that not only was Rhodes backstage and ready to compete, but that he'd insisted on facing Seth Rollins. The duo wrapped their critically acclaimed series in the night's main event, with much of the action focused around Rhodes' grotesquely bruised pectoral area.

Cody touched on the injury in a post-show promo. Per PWInsider's Mike Johnson, after felling Rollins, Rhodes stated that he'd talk about his torn pec more on tonight's episode of Raw. The 36-year-old then apologised to the fans for incurring the injury and stressed that he made the decision to wrestle, with nobody forcing him.

News that Rhodes was entering Hell In A Cell 2022 injured broke prior to the premium live event.

Expect further news on Cody's situation on tonight's episode of Raw, provided he lives up to his promise. Rhodes remains undefeated in the promotion since returning to surprise Rollins at WrestleMania 38 on 2 April.
