Report: Moose's Impact Wrestling Contract Expires In June
TNA World Heavyweight Champion could be departing sooner than we thought.
A new report courtesy of Fightful Select states that Moose's contract with Impact Wrestling will expire this June.
It had previously been announced at Hard To Kill by Impact executive vice president Don Callis that Moose was tied down to Impact for another two years, meaning a minimum departure year for the self-proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight Champion would be 2023.
The former NFL player had initially come into Impact at the Destination X special in July 2016, unveiled as the new bodyguard of Mike Bennett. Upon his initial arrival, it was confirmed by the company he had signed a two-year deal, and has obviously gone on to extend that deal beyond the two-year period.
Fightful Select had previously reported that many Impact contract extensions had actually been announced months after they officially kicked in, meaning a handful of them would actually be coming to an end long before we first thought. The company has lost Jake Crist, Ethan Page, and Taya Valkyrie in recent weeks, while Sami Callihan opted to re-sign with the promotion.
Whether or not Moose does actually leave Impact Wrestling in June remains to be seen.
