Report: Vince McMahon Missed This Week's WWE Raw

The Chairman skipped this week's episode of his old flagship show.

Vince McMahon was not in the house for this week's episode of WWE Raw in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

This is according to a new report from Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. There's no word on why, exactly, the WWE Chairman wasn't present or who filled in for him in his absence, though one would assume some combination of Paul Heyman, Triple H, and Kevin Dunn would have been handed the reins for the night.

Fightful Select reported a fortnight ago that Vince was becoming increasingly "distant" from WWE, spending more time away from Raw and SmackDown tapings than he has in decades. Meltzer's new story reinforces this. It sounds very much like the Chairman's XFL commitments are taking a toll on his free time, which was always to be expected.

It'll be interesting to see how Vince's WWE schedule looks as the XFL rolls on. His pet football project is a big priority at the moment, though the idea of him stepping away from Sports Entertainment while he's still physically capable of running the show has always seemed fanciful. Could this be a paradigm shift? We'll see.
