Report: WWE Had No Long-Term Plans For This Released Wrestler

When "budget cuts" and "creative has nothing for you" collide, WWE releases happen.

Eva Marie was one of 18 WWE wrestlers to be let go by the promotion on Thursday (4 November), with the company reportedly citing "budget cuts" as the reason behind the releases in an email sent out by Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.

While there's no indication that this may have contributed to her release, Fightful Select have now reported that WWE's creative team had no long-term plans for Eva prior to letting her go.

On top of this, there weren't any plans when they brought her back to the promotion in October 2020 either, though WWE ended up formulating the Doudrop storyline in March 2021 before commencing vignette production two months later.

Eva's latest WWE run was her first since 2017, when she quietly left the company after a lengthy televised absence. Paired with Doudrop on Raw throughout, the former 'All Red Everything' lasted just three months, conclusively losing a feud with her former partner after dropping consecutive singles matches on Raw's 13 and 20 September episodes.

A televised hiatus followed that second Doudrop loss, as Eva took time off to film a movie. Now, she is gone from WWE entirely.
