Revealed: Vince McMahon's Huge WWE Plans For Cody Rhodes

So, Cody Rhodes in WWE. What does Vince McMahon have up his sleeve? Find out here...

Vince McMahon Cody Rhodes
AEW/WWE

Though Cody Rhodes' last WWE run closed on creative refusing to move him on from the much-maligned Stardust character, ultimately leading to Rhodes requesting his release, it sounds like Vince McMahon at least has designs on presenting the former AEW EVP as a bigger deal should he return to the market leaders in 2022.

This is according to Wade Keller. Speaking on a PWTorch VIP audio show, he outright stated that Rhodes is going to WWE, where he will get a "big push" with McMahon treating his signing as a "big deal."

The WWE Chairman and CEO reportedly "loves the idea of acquiring a co-founder and EVP [of AEW] and main event wrestler." Vince is very interested in taking advantage and making money out of the situation, potentially leading to Cody working a major match at WrestleMania 38.

Keller expects Rhodes to be on 'Mania, whether that means competing or making his first appearance since re-signing with the promotion. He speculated that WWE may even reconfigure its plans for the two-nighter (specifically relating to this weekend's Elimination Chamber show) potentially to clear the way for Cody.

Rhodes is expected to land a big-money deal with WWE. As this has been cited as the reason behind his AEW departure, this is no great surprise.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes' split from AEW was formally announced on Tuesday. The couple were granted their WWE releases within days of each other back in May 2016, having long grown disgruntled with life in Stamford.
