Ric Flair: What WWE Should Do (And Should Not Do) With the Nature Boy

3. Do Give Flair a Live Microphone

flair mic When they put Ric Flair on TV, give the man a microphone: he EXCELS at the promo; it is part of his very being! Script his in-ring time with a mic loosely, and let Flair have the freedom to shape the promo his own. Not only has he has earned that right, but there are times when he has been magical with that microphone in hand when in front of a crowd. Flair can sell us most anything, and he could be great on go-home shows for Pay Per Views to get us hooked, or on the follow-up to the PPV shows on the Monday Night RAW program. Get him involved, and get him a microphone once or twice a month between PPV shows; put him in the ring, in front of the camera, and let him shine.

Don't Bury Him Under Insignificant Talent

fhfh] When they do put Flair back in the game, WWE must be very careful not to have him work with talent that eventually won't make it. Examples would be Tensai, Brodus Clay, or even Wade Barrett. Placing Flair with talent which the WWE has time and again tried to establish and re-establish would be counter-productive at this stage in his career. Getting Flair back in WWE is a great opportunity for to make something special happen, but to place him with talent that doesn't ultimately deliver or that is simply uninteresting would be a huge loss and a wasted opportunity. Now is the time for Flair to get involved with someone who is established but needs that extra something to get them over with the crowd, whether they are face or heel. WWE appears to be on this track by having Flair spend some time with The Miz, but if the Miz can't "figure" out the execution of the Figure Four Leglock, Flair's signature move that he has given Miz, the entire angle will be all for not in the end.
