Road Dogg Returns To WWE In New Executive Role
Less than 2 months after begging Tony Khan for an AEW job, Road Dogg returns to WWE.
Brian 'Road Dogg' James has returned to WWE less than two months after admitting to "begging" the company's closest competition, AEW, for a job.
PWInsider reported that James had gone back to WWE in an executive position on Monday. It was noted that he wasn't going to be at that night's Raw show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, however.
The same has since clarified that James has been appointed WWE's Vice President of Live Events. This follows Jeff Jarrett's departure as Senior Vice President, Live Events, the following week, though PWInsider stresses that Road Dogg isn't replacing his fellow WWE Hall of Famer.
James' previous WWE stint ended in January, when he was let go from the promotion alongside a host of other staff members. The D-Generation X member and close Triple H affiliate had been working at the Performance Center at the time. Prior to this, he had served in a variety of different functions since coming back to WWE in 2011, including writing and production duties.
A key member of Triple H's NXT black and gold team, Road Dogg's WWE return comes weeks after his old DX's stablemate's ascent to creative lead and head of talent relations following Vince McMahon's retirement.
