Road Warrior Animal Responds To Becky Lynch's Burn
Lynch criticised Hall of Fame for comments on women's wrestling.
Legendary tag team wrestler Road Warrior Animal recently caused something of a stir with some questionable comments about women's wrestling on his What A Rush podcast. Animal mused that it was "a problem" for the wrestling business that women - with specific regard to the headlining triple threat at TLC - were in the main event.
As you can probably imagine, Becky Lynch was not happy with Animal's comments, and took to Twitter to slay the ex-Legion of Doomster.
In the latest episode of his personal podcast, Animal responded to Becky's broadside - though didn't quite back down from his initial point of view.
Right out the gate, he shot back at the 'Irish Lasskicker':
"First of all, Becky Lynch needs to get over herself, first and foremost. When Becky Lynch can achieve what I’ve achieved in the sport of pro wrestling, then she can call me out."
Animal was also keen to stress that he had offered broadly positive comments on Lynch - comments which much of the wrestling media apparently chose to ignore:
"Where’s the compliment in saying that [Becky's] the hottest female? Where’s the compliment of saying the women stole the show WrestleMania, at TLC, and so on?"
After implying that his numerous titles throughout his tenured wrestling career gave him more of a right to his opinion, Animal concluded:
"If someone wants to hang her hat on one little comment, as compared to ten positives, I rest my case."
He did not offer an apology for the specific comments of his which had previously caused outrage.
