Pipers actions directly led to he and Hogan squaring off for the WWF Championship in an event televised on MTV, The War to Settle the Score. This was in February 1985, when MTV was still a rapidly growing, massively popular cable station that teens and other young people watched in huge numbers. The match itself lasted less than eight minutes, ending when Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff interfered, which triggered a massive brawl that drew Cyndi Lauper onto the apron and Mr. T into the ring. Piper attacked Mr. T, but he and Orndorff scrambled once Hogan recovered, though they would try to re-enter the ring. The ensuing fracas involving police, security and other officials had fans in a frenzy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKnH6_GG4rg All of this really didnt settle anything and only served to set up the main event for the first WrestleMania the following month, as things continued to build
