This match should have been much better than it was.

Unfortunately, Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey didn't end up having as much chemistry in the ring as we'd anticipated. Nonetheless, it was still pretty enjoyable.

Going into the match, The Boss felt like one of the first real threats to Rousey's RAW Women's Championship at the time. This was not only because of her track record as one of the women's division's best workers, but because she added an edge to her character that hadn't been seen since NXT.

When it finally came time for their clash at this year's Royal Rumble, it was a proverbial "mixed bag". There were some moments of brilliance here and there, including some nice-looking offence and slick catch-as-catch-can sequences, but the match suffered from pacing issues and occasional sloppiness from both women.

The match ended with Ronda pinning Banks after a Piper's Pit, which is strange considering she usually wins by ripping people's arms off. It wasn't an offensive ending by any means, but it definitely left fans scratching their heads.

In short, while the match fell a bit shy of expectations, it was still solid.
