Ryback has posted a photo of his Instagram which shows how serious the staph infection in his knee is. The knee has swollen to twice the normal size and Ryback remains incapacitated by it. He's in significant pain, stating "Staph infections suck literally the worst pain I have ever experienced without being injured." Technically, it is an injury, and he's been out of WWE action since mid July. There's mounting speculation that WWE will vacate his Intercontinental Champion status, given that it doesn't look like he'll be able to defend it in a thirty day window It must be a frustrating time for Ryback, given how much momentum he had built up this past year. His babyface reactions had became strong and the IC title run was a marker for his growing status. But just a month and a bit into the reign, this staph infection has derailed much of his progress. The Intercontinental Title is definitely having a rough 2015. Daniel Bryan was IC Champion and went out injured just a month and a bit into his reign. It now looks like Ryback, the man who won Bryan's vacated belt, could be about to suffer the same fate.
