Sami Zayn Returns On WWE SmackDown
The "true" Intercontinental Champion is back!
Sami Zayn returned to WWE on Friday's episode of SmackDown, attacked Jeff Hardy and referred to himself as the "true Intercontinental Champion".
Welcome back, Sam Zayn.
When pressed on where he'd been since being stripped of the belt in May, Zayn said he didn't have to explain himself, was a man of his word and should be recognised as IC Champ. This, rather blatantly, will establish Sami as Hardy's next main challenger.
AJ Styles is in the picture too; Zayn had said on social media that he was another "fraud" moonlighting as the "true Intercontinental Champ".
What a Triple Threat match that'd be - Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn could easily steal any card it's on.
Also, it's just great to see Zayn back on television. His latest angle has an air of Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon from 1994 about it, and that's hardly a bad thing. If his issues with Hardy lead to a ladder match half as good as that pair's one at WrestleMania X, then everyone will be happy.
Bring it on, and add AJ to the mix too.
