Samoa Joe Says He's Satisfied With Leaving TNA

Also news on what his nickname might be.

Samoa Joe made headlines last week when he made his WWE debut during the NXT Takeover Unstoppable event on Wednesday. He did an interview with WWE after it was over, but that's all part of the show. People wanted to know what he really thought about it as well as the decision to make the jump to WWE. In an interview with Live Audio Wrestling, Joe mentioned how he was loyal to a fault and that's part of the reason why he was in TNA for nearly decade. He also said that he's satisfied about leaving: "I'm unhappy that I didn't get the opportunity to kinda finish out what I wanted to start in TNA, but at the same time, so many great things have popped up since that I'm very, very satisfied with the decision that I made." Joe's definitely right about that. He went from working in TNA earlier this year to doing some shows for Ring of Honor and then appearing on WWE TV soon after that. Not many wrestlers can say that they've been in all three promotions within four months of eachother. It shows that Joe has a lot of value as a performer and he's highly respected by the fans as well. It feels like the right time for him to be in WWE too. With NXT producing so many great shows on a consistent basis, he's the perfect fit for them. At age 36 it may have been difficult for him to get into WWE in a year or two, so it was definitely a "now or never" decision for him. WWE fans seem excited about it as well. Joe's new shirt sold out at WWEShop.com within a few days and now people have to wait until the middle of June to get them. As we have mentioned previously, Joe will keep appearing on NXT while also working for other independent promotions. Maybe he'll be WWE only within a few months, but for now he's got a unique deal that allows him to work at his own pace. In other Samoa Joe news, his "Samoan Submission Machine" name likely won't be used in WWE. That's what he was billed as in TNA as well as other places, so fans were hoping that it would continue in TNA. However, it appears like they are going to sh away from that moniker. His new WWE shirt says "Submission Specialist" on it so that's likely what he'll be referred to as during NXT broadcasts. That could change because we'll know more after Wednesday's NXT broadcast airs. With TNA's future very much in doubt and Joe's future looking as bright as ever, he should be happy with his decision because it appears to be the right move for him.
