Several 24/7 Division Wrestlers In 'Regular' Matches On WWE Raw
WWE provides further evidence the 24/7 Championship is dead and buried.
Last week, we saw the 24/7 Championship surface after months of near-total invisibility on WWE programming, only for Nikki Cross to win it from Dana Brooke and then immediately drop it in (or near) a refuse bin.
The literal burial of a joke title seemed to make it clear that it was no more. But it still wasn't clear whether the title would be resurrected or if it was indeed dead. (WWE.com has the 24/7 title listed as ending its run this year rather than existing to "present.")
But if there was any doubt, Monday saw a trio of wrestlers who had been almost exclusively chasing the 24/7 Championship competing in more traditional matches on Raw this Monday night. Brooke, the penultimate champ, battled Iyo Sky in a losing effort to try to get revenge on Damage CTRL and Cross. Tamina Snuka stumbled her way through a match with the returning Mia Yim, also falling to her opponent.
Then there was Akira Tozawa, who had been played solely as a comedy act for more than two years, suddenly giving Baron Corbin all he could handle in an impromptu match sparked by a poker game that went horribly for Corbin and JBL. He also lost, with Baron eking out a win.

Of the three, Tozawa is the most accomplished in the ring and could have the best chance to make something if he's not used solely as enhancement talent. Dana could succeed if only because of the smaller division, though she's been a jobber for aeons.
