Rumors of a major surprise surfaced early Monday afternoon, and the talk was that WWE RAW was going to be a can't miss episode. That hype came to fruition during the first segment of the show, as Shane McMahon shocked the wrestling world by returning to the WWE, after being away from the company for nearly 7 years. RAW kicked off the show with Vince McMahon describing what the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy Award meant to him. It was apparent that all the surprise rumors were centered around the award, and maybe a big name wrestler was going to receive it. Names like Kurt Angle, Goldberg and Steve Austin were being thrown out there. When McMahon announced Stephanie McMahon as the winner, it was a big letdown, but it lead to the shocking twist. "Here comes the money..." Boom! The crowd erupted, the internet exploded. Shane-O-Mac was back, and the crowd greeted him with chant after chant ("Holy sh*t," "This is awesome," "You still got it"). Shane was back to confront Stephanie and Vince, and at times, the dialogue felt very real. Shane claiming that Stephanie and Triple H have run the company into the ground, with TV ratings down, and many top stars injured. The 30 minute in ring segment came to a conclusion when Shane told his father that he wanted control of RAW. Vince countered that he could get control if he won 1 match. That match would be at WrestleMania 32, against The Undertaker, inside of a Hell In A Cell! With that announcement, WrestleMania season was finally here. Shane McMahon's return to the WWE will lead to 5 major storyline impacts for the WWE.
