Shawn Michaels has vowed to return to "regular life" following WWE Crown Jewel, insisting his comeback in the night's main event was just a one-off.

Eight years after hanging up his chaps for the second time, Michaels broke his retirement to partner with Triple H opposite The Undertaker and Kane in Riyadh on Friday. Following the contest, an utterly cream-crackered Shawn caught up with WWE.com:

"My goodness. Obviously, this whole day I've been anxious and nervous and everything else, but once I got in there with everybody, it was fun, comfortable. I did a few things to get a little warm and forget just how tough this is on your body. I'll be feeling it for the next several days."

A hurting Michaels went on:

"It'll be a very good reminder of why I didn't do it for eight years, and why I'm not gonna do it again. If I can possibly help it."

Michaels concluded that he'll be resuming his role at the Performance Centre now the Saudi sojourn is done and dusted:

"It was fun to do, but I'm glad it's over too."

So is this the last we've seen of Shawn Michaels in the ring, for a third time? We've heard it all before...

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
