When asked about whether he ever foresaw Triple H becoming as a major part of WWE as he is today, it's future owner in particular, Shawn answered no. He always knew that Triple H had the desire and the appetite to achieve as much as he had, and had the ability to become a great wrestler. But in terms of the corporate side, Shawn never imagined Triple H getting as high up as he could. He did always see that Hunter would want to continue to contribute to the business once after he had finished wrestling, but Triple H had never set out to marry Stephanie and take over the company. Shawn spoke very warmly about Triple H, as we assume that he would. Surprisingly though, he told us that he and Triple H never talk shop. Shawn feels that Hunter must talk wrestling all day, every day, so he likes to be his one refuge away from that, and that they usually talk about their families. You could tell from the way that he spoke about Triple H that their friendship means a lot to them both. Shawn was also asked about the two incarnations of DX, and the differences between the Attitude Era & Re-united DX. He said that he and Hunter had to take a different approach to the re-united DX, because they were older, and acting the way they did when they were in their late 20s/early 30s would be ridiculous. He always felt that playing a character close to your own personality was better because it was more truthful, so they went with a dorkier version of the group, rather than the edgy version from before. According to Shawn, the second version of DX sold a lot more merchandise than the original, so they decided to run with it, hence the continuous tongue-in-cheek plugging of their t-shirts that they often did. He claimed that acting like an idiot was what he always did best, and that his two runs with DX were two of his favourite periods of his career.
