Sheamus Comments On Cesaro's WWE Departure
"He's a huge asset to anybody who picks him up."
After beating the tar out of each other in a series of singles match, Cesaro and Sheamus formed one of the most successful tag teams of the past decade, having five reigns as Tag Team Champions as The Bar. With his former partner having now departed WWE, the Celtic Warrior has been giving his thoughts on the Swiss Cyborg's exit from the company.
Speaking to Joey Hayden of DallasNews.com (via Wrestling Inc.), Sheamus was quick to praise Cesaro as "one of the greatest" who will be a "massive success" where he ends up next.
"Honestly, when we started, Cesaro was like an acquaintance. When we started The Bar, we became brothers. I just saw him last week when I was staying in Florida. We stay in touch all the time. Legacy-wise, I think he's one of the greatest I've ever stepped in the ring with. I never had to worry about anything. He made me a better wrestler, better performer just by tagging with him."
The four-time World Champion continued on:
"To me, he'll always be one of the greatest. I think no matter what he does or where he goes, he'll be a massive success. He's a huge asset to anybody who picks him up. I always believed the guy would be WWE Champion. That's never off the cards, because people have left and come back, but I think whoever snaps up Cesaro is going to have a major, major talent on their hands. And I think he's got a lot left in him as well."
Sheamus would make mention how he recently visited Cesaro in his Florida home, noting how the real-life Claudio Castagnoli has built a gym and is working out "like a lunatic".
Having first signed with WWE in 2011, Cesaro left Vince McMahon's sports entertainment juggernaut this past February after the expiration of his contract. During his tenure with the promotion, the 41-year-old won one solitary United States Title, was victorious in the 2014 Andre the Giant Battle Royal, and was a Tag Team Champion on seven occasions - five times with Sheamus, once with Tyson Kidd, and once with Shinsuke Nakamura.
