Former WWE and WCW star Sid Eudy has sadly died aged 63. His son Gunnar shared the news via Facebook on Monday evening and paid tribute to his father. Since then, industry insiders and fans alike have come together to join him, and to send their sincere condolences to the entire Eudy family for their loss.

Gunnar revealed that his dad passed away after battling cancer for several years.

Sid shot to stardom in the late-1980s. His impressive physical size and intensity turned heads immediately, but he'd eventually outgrow WCW and catch the WWF's attention. Eudy would go back and forth between both companies throughout the 90s, but he was always in the main event picture wherever he went.

The two-time WWF/WWE Champ also held WCW's big gold belt twice and the WCW US Title once. He'd capture countless other prizes in various NWA territories, and had a memorable (albeit brief) stopover in Paul Heyman's ECW in 1999.

Eudy did return to WWE screens for a spot with Heath Slater on Raw in 2012, and only wrestled his last match in 2017 before retiring from the ring.

He'll be remembered as one of the most intense characters in both WWE and WCW. Privately, as Gunnar disclosed during his online statement, Sid will be fondly remembered as a loving family man.
