Sonya Deville's In-Ring Return Announced For Next Week's WWE SmackDown

Sonya Deville will make her return to in-ring action on next week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

With Deville and Naomi going back-and-forth for several weeks now, all signs have been pointing to the two throwing down in the squared-circle sooner rather than later. As it goes, it now looks as though Deville is set to brush the dust off her wrestling boots and go toe-to-toe with the former SmackDown Women's Champion on next week's edition of the blue show.

The bout was set up in the wake of Naomi being overlooked by Deville and Adam Pearce when selecting the bracket for the inaugural Queen of the Ring tournament. Deville confessed that she didn't believe Naomi was worthy of being WWE's Queen or even on SmackDown, a comment that ultimately led to Deville revealing that she would be facing off against her frequent verbal sparring partner in seven days time.

This will mark Deville's first match since being beaten by her former best pal Mandy Rose at SummerSlam 2020 in a No DQ Loser Leaves Town match. Since then, the star had taken some time off before returning as an on-screen authority figure alongside Pearce in January and continuing on in that role until now.
