Spoiler On Bray Wyatt's Status For Tonight's AEW Dynamite
Windham Rotunda has been heavily speculated for tonight's AEW Dynamite. Here's the latest.
That tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite takes place in Brodie Lee's Rochester, New York hometown has led to much speculation on Windham Rotunda debuting on the show, given his association with Lee - but don't bet on it happening.
Posting on the Figure Four Online message board, Dave Meltzer claims to have been given the impression that the former Bray Wyatt won't be appearing for AEW this week. Unless, that is, the situation has changed over the past 24 hours.
Meltzer has reported on the Rotunda/AEW link several times in recent weeks. On 21 August, he claimed the 34-year-old was "most likely" heading to Tony Khan promotion when his WWE non-compete clause expired, adding in the 13 September 2021 Wrestling Observer Newsletter that if AEW signed Windham, tonight's Dynamite could be the night he starts.
Rotunda was released by WWE on 31 July. If bound to a standard 90-day non-compete clause, he won't be able to appear for other promotions until 29 October. It's possible that he may have negotiated a shorter clause with WWE, though this is currently unclear.
WrestleMania 37's second night (11 April) hosted Rotunda's last match, a loss to Randy Orton.
