Steve Austin Denies Setting Up WrestleMania Match With Brock Lesnar
Austin trying to clear things up.
Steve Austin took to his podcast today to deny suggestions that he's been actively setting up a WrestleMania 32 match with Brock Lesnar. It was last week on Austin's WWE Network podcast when Paul Heyman asked him towards the end if he would consider facing Lesnar in Dallas next April and Austin didn't say no. He did a fired up Stone Cold promo that got the entire wrestling world talking because it sure sounded like he was interested in doing something with Lesnar at Mania next year. Austin claims that he didn't know what Heyman was going to say although a lot of people watching it felt like it was a set up because that was such a strong way to end their discussion. They spoke for one hour about a lot of topics, yet at the end of it all fans really wanted to talk about was what Austin said about Lesnar. Since Austin hasn't wrestled a match since 2003, we should probably take his word for it that he's not wresting. However, he could have easily said he's retired during that talk with Heyman and that could have been the end of it, but he chose to do that promo that riled people up. Austin ended the Lesnar discussion by saying that he and Lesnar would be doing different things going forward, so we shouldn't get our hopes up about the possibilities of this match.
