Sting Not Troubled By WrestleMania 31 Loss
The Icon has no regrets over his WWE debut match.
The decision to have Sting lose to Triple H in his first WWE match at WrestleMania 31 is one that many fans hold against WWE.
However, in his first interview since his in-ring retirement and Hall of Fame induction speech, Sting told Sports Illustrated that he agreed to the match's finish upon hearing the proposal.
The Icon was more focused on creating a wonderful memory rather than claiming a victory, coaxing fans to let the booking decision go.
"People took the loss personally, but in this business, you have to learn real quick not to take anything that personally," Sting said.
"For me, it was a memory just being in Levi Stadium in California, my home state, with that crowd there."
WrestleMania 31 was attended by 76,976 fans who witnessed a genuine WrestleMania moment, with famed factions D-Generation X and the New World Order interfering in the Sting-Triple H bout.
"There was so much nostalgia with having DX and the NWO all together at WrestleMania. I cant tell you how many pictures Ive signed of all of us in the ring.
"Fans talked about that and loved it."
