Sting Or Goldberg Could Be The Undertaker's WrestleMania 32 Opponent
Insider discussion on Taker's mystery opponent.
Sting or Bill Goldberg could be set to wrestle The Undertaker on April 3rd at WrestleMania 32. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned both names as a possibility. He's heard that the opponent is set, and it isn't someone on WWE's roster, which means it won't be a wrestler from Raw, Smackdown or NXT. "It is someone who is not an active wrestler, which made me think Sting," Meltzer said. Vince McMahon was previously said to be not keen on that match, and there had been concerns over Sting's fitness. However, with the situation WWE is in, it isn't like there's a lot of other good options. Plus, from the fan perspective, Sting versus The Undertaker has always been a dream match. The other name mentioned by Meltzer is Bill Goldberg. That was also a dream match for the fans, especially when both were under contract at the same time in 2003. WWE never did it, but maybe now is their opportunity. It would be a true clash of the titans, WCW's toughest guy against WWE's toughest guy. Both are heavily into MMA and it would have a big fight atmosphere. "You could do Bill Goldberg," Meltzer stated. "It has got to be the right amount of money, he could do it, it would be something" He went on to note Vince McMahon wasn't overly enthralled with the WCW legend, but that hasn't stopped the WWE chairman from doing business in the past.
