Sting To WWE Update - Has He Signed?

Sting signing with WWE is still not a done deal and there are no plans for his debut any time soon, according to F4wonline.com. The deal has been close for the past six months and yesterday's news that a casting call had been put out for actors to play Sting in a WWE promo video appeared to be the biggest indication yet that the signing was done. However, F4wonline reveals that the casting call wasn't directly from WWE, instead it came from an agency which works with WWE. The video will be shot in Los Angeles which indicates it will not be anything to do with WWE programming. What that could indicate is that Sting's 'WWE promo video' is in fact a project for WWE 2K15. That would be in fitting with F4wonline saying that it is a WWE title but an external WWE agency. It sounds a lot like what happened last year with The Ultimate Warrior being involved as the face of WWE 2K14. Warrior was signed by WWE 2K14 externally of WWE, with the job to shoot a commercial and endorse 2K14, appearing indirectly under the WWE banner for the first time in a generation. It ultimately led to Warrior's Hall of Fame induction and 2014 Raw return. This scenario could be what is now applying to Sting, he will shoot a video to promote 2K15 and feature as a selling point for the game, before coming into WWE formally in the run up to WrestleMania 31. What we do know for certain is that Sting is starring in an agency led WWE project. Given that WWE do so much of their own production in-house, the video game certainly seems to be the most likely project Sting could be involved with.
