Television's 10 Best "Wrestling Episodes"

9. "Salem's Daughter" - Sabrina The Teenage Witch

boy meets world
CBS

Fewer things can make it clear how far removed from the 1990s we are than taking a moment to mull over the following facts; one of the most popular programs on television involved a 32-year old woman pretending to be a school-aged lass with a wisecracking cat mentor; one of the most popular wrestlers in the world was a man who called himself Mr. Ass, and whose theme song explored this theme with unnecessary depth and verve; and it was imagined that these two properties, combined, would make for compelling television.

Billy Gunn is pretty disappointing in the role of Xavier “The Avenger” Prescott (which is at least a better name than Mr. Ass), and the bride is played by the always unbearable Victoria Jackson. In the end, Billy is pinned by Melissa Joan Hart following a run-in by a cat puppet, which may very well have been a real finish booked by Vince Russo.

Immortal Dialogue: "My mother took a lot of folic acid when I was in utero."
