Emma was one of the flagship women's wrestlers on NXT; many point to her battle with Paige at the 2014 NXT Arrival show as the match that started the Divas Revolution (more on that later). So just what happened? She, much like Paige, got called up to WWE. The Australian talent was embroiled in a cheesy romance with Santino Marella until he quit the business and retired. Emma then drifted in a directionless Divas division. In summer 2014, she accidentally stole an iPad case, got arrested for it, and WWE fired her. Within an hour or so, the company changed its tune, rehiring her. However, Emma's career was never the same. She was punished pretty brutally, almost never allowed to win a match on the Divas roster. In January 2015, she was demoted to NXT, where the losing streak continued. It was only a few months ago that Emma seems to have been forgiven. While her new heel character works so well because her dissatisfaction with the course of her career is very real, she's still barely been allowed to do anything as Dana Brooke's sidekick. Her one victory before NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in late August, in which she defeated Brooke, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch in a fatal four-way match, was an accident. She's done nothing of merit since.
