Open-handed chops can be unforgiving. They've been known to knock victims into another lifetime, drive the wind out of them or reduce their flesh to hamburger meat depending on who's throwing them. If the person dishing them out is WALTER, plan on all of the above and more. But even the most dedicated of fans will likely tell you that they can count on one finger the number of times they've seen one actually end a match. However, when The Ring General and The Psycho Killer came to blows on the first night of NXT TakeOver: Stand And Deliver, they delivered just that.

Presenting arguably the greatest challenge of WALTER's inconceivable 870-day reign as United Kingdom Champion, Tommaso Ciampa learned the hard way when WALTER's concrete hands splintered the announcer's table on an errant chop before decimating Ciampa himself. To his immense credit, the former and future NXT Champion took his UK counterpart to the brink for nearly 20 minutes before a soul-shattering chop from WALTER found its mark and blasted Ciampa back into 2016 for the victory.

On a night highlighted by Raquel Gonzalez upending Io Shirai's 304-day reign as NXT Women's Champion, MSK claiming the vacated NXT Tag straps and Bronson Reed emerging as Johnny Gargano's next North American Championship challenger, it was the brutal defense of 'The Austrian Anomaly's throne that had most fans talking going into Night Two.
