The Complete A-Z Of The Undertaker

19. H - Hell In A Cell

The legacy Undertaker and Mankind left behind with their powerful King of the Ring 1998 Hell in a Cell match propelled both men to unfounded heights and supported the raft of promotional hyperbole that engulfed the company's new favourite gimmick.

Subsequently, the match became a final proving ground for several Undertaker rivals in the years to come, with reflections on the Foley fall key to exhibiting how devastating the 'Deadman' could be in the environment.

Feuds with Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Edge, Batista and Shane McMahon all made their way inside the dangerous cage, and he would also dethrone CM Punk for the World Title in 2009 at the point the gimmick had gained such ground that it became a pay-per-view event itself.

It was fitting that he would contest an 'End of an Era' match with Triple H at WrestleMania 28 alongside cell survivor Shawn Michaels as guest referee within the steel. In stereo with Undertaker's run, Hunter developed a similar history of his own in the Cell, but his lengthy résumé simply does not compare.
