Spectacular special entrances superstars have been given to mark the huge occasion have been an annual highlight of the show since the pay-per-view's earliest days.

Older shows with less elaborate staging usually focussed on aligning wrestlers with celebrities for the all-important publicity shots, but the late-90s expansion of the show gave birth to some remarkable productions.

The Undertaker was at the forefront, with his demonic marches making highlight package fodder year on year. He shone in his 'American Bad Ass' persona too, with high speed charges down the ramp on his motorbike alongside live performances by Limp Bizkit creating memorable visuals at WrestleMania 17 and 19.

John Cena would be a regular recipient of the star treatment, with several ostentatious entries onto the grand stage, including a high speed chase through streets of Detroit and a summons to the ring from around 50 doppelgängers.

Triple H has embraced the lunacy of a grand display in recent years, with increasingly literal and metatextual presentations of his 'King of Kings' character. These pale in comparison to his first major WrestleMania experimentation, in which he publicly auditioned for a role as the new 'Conan the Barbarian', by adorning the warlord's gear before his WrestleMania 22 WWE Title match with John Cena.
