The Complete A-Z Of Wrestling In 2017

2. Y - Young Bucks

Even in the post-kayfabe world nearly all professional wrestlers exist in in 2017, few can manipulate the ebbs and flows as well as The Young Bucks.

That the duo can still work futuristic and fantastical matches as they have done for the last decade is almost secondary to what the pair have come to represent as they do it. Providing a commentary on the farcicalness of wrestling as an art-form whilst actively engaging in it, Matt and Nick Jackson have repurposed tired criticisms of their fourth wall-smashing style into their very personas.

Shameless self-promoters, it's become almost an in-joke to wear one of the endless selection of t-shirts they have out, feeding back into the self-made machine they've created completely outside of the empiric WWE machine they should allegedly be striving to break into.

Destined perhaps never to permanently headlines cards but perhaps better suited for something more anyway, The Bucks are main eventers in all but card placement because they act like they are, and fans perceive them as such. It's a rare spot few attain, and even traditionalists can't find fault with such a canny old-school mentality to the craft.
