The Complete A-Z Of Wrestling In 2017

20. G - Great Balls Of Fire

A bizarre talking point for all the wrong reasons in 2017, Monday Night Raw's July pay-per-view name was roundly mocked from the second WWE released the first cobbled-together logo. It would get worse before it got better.

Jokes initially sprung from suggestions that Vince McMahon assumed the 1957 Jerry Lee Lewis hit would strike a chord with his young fanbase, but the reality was far more preposterous - the Chairman literally just found all the words funny. Kurt Angle confirmed as much in press waffle for it, noting how "the head honcho thought that the name was hilarious, and that’s pretty much the entire story!"

It was perhaps the thought of McMahon p*ssing himself so much at the mere mention of a testicle synonym on his Network that motivated the in-house design team to craft two new logos for the show following the original WordArt rush-jobs. The first...ballsy take on the moniker had literal flaming genitals in the background. Subtle changes to the flames removed the phallus, but still was still pretty nuts.
