The Disturbing Truth Behind Bray Wyatt

The Fiend
WWE

The WrestleMania 36 Firefly Fun House Match was fantastic; a kaleidoscopic jump through WWE history manifested by Wyatt to reveal the heel inside of John Cena, this was an audacious and ambitious deconstruction of an unpleasant man masquerading as a children's hero. Given how sacred Cena was, really, this was a seismic passing of the torch. WWE used that torch to light Randy Orton's face on fire and put him under a luchador's mask, which only really made people think "That's ironic, since Orton's style is so unspectacular".

Beyond that, there is no "Lore of the Fiend".

The Fiend was introduced in the first instance (April 2019) as a meta storyline response to the failure of the old Bray Wyatt character. The old Bray Wyatt was a "pathetic slob loser" that the new Wyatt promised would never be seen again "even in his weakest moments". To really get this across, Wyatt took a chainsaw to a cardboard cutout of the swamp-dweller and maniacally cut it in half. At SummerSlam, the Fiend debuted in the ring having fashioned a new lantern from the old Bray's decapitated head. The symbolism wasn't difficult to grasp. The old Wyatt however returned in the summer of 2020 because they're making this sh*t up as they go along.

But they can't be! WWE is telling a vast mythology in which the Fiend "changes" people!

This was probably the plan, at least to Wyatt, and how self-centred. So the world revolves around the Fiend? It's just as well it isn't an actual thing.

Let's track and trace his opponents.
