The Disturbing Truth Behind WWE Raw Reunion
Sami Zayn cut the best promo of the night referring to a pathetic backstage party as like "watching the Attitude Era through the FaceApp". It's not the first time this year the 'Underdog From The Underground' has been articulate to an awkward fault, but his words were heard loud and clear considering that there wasn't any f*cking music playing as the moving props boogied about in the background.
He was chasing them off for the good of his colleagues, effectively, until fence-sitting Rey Mysterio came to their aid. The idea that a bonafide legend would stick up for Jillian Hall et al under the guise of Zayn showing respect was beyond the pale, but then so was the total lack of effort made to find something unique for the likes of Hall to do. She was a singer, maybe have her sing? If only for the idiots to have something to dance to.
Anyhow, this all led to Zayn getting bantered off by Mysterio and a second rag-tag gang of industry icons because that's virtually all that happened all night. Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle and Hurricane may have been sharing late 2001 Alliance memories but it's not like Sgt Slaughter could have chipped in there. It didn't matter. It didn't f*cking matter. Nothing f*cking mattered on this show, and if that's fine with the bulk of the audience, then maybe that's a disturbing truth in and of itself.
