Time flies by, it really does. We're slowly approaching the three year anniversary of CM Punk walking out on WWE, and a whole lot has changed in that time. It may never have been in question, but we're also slowly understanding more and more of just how influential the Straight Edge Superstar was within the company.

CM Punk had a well documented eight year tenure in WWE, starting off as a plucky babyface in WW/ECW before heading to the main roster and two Money in the Bank wins. Punk would somewhat meander before the rocket met the botty so to speak, his career quickly heading towards the stratosphere in the summer of 2011.

In those eight years, Punk played a variety of roles, and a variety of characters with the same drug-free centre. Much like Chris Jericho, Punk was able to evolve with the times, making minor and major changes to his gimmick in order to stay fresh. The Evolution of Punk wasn't just a catchy name for a UFC documentary; it was a very real descriptor of his time as a WWE superstar.
