The Many Faces Of Paul Heyman - Ranked From Worst To Best

5. ECW Representative

Having spent some time away from television following his run with Heidenreich, Heyman returned in May 2005, and helped announce the ECW One Night Stand PPV. Vince McMahon rightly placed him in charge of the event, and it turned out to be a huge, nostalgia-filled success.

The event provoked a heated WWE vs. ECW mini-feud, culminating in a huge brawl towards the end of the show, with a Steve Austin-led group of ECW loyalists putting the boots to the WWE invaders. A second One Night Stand followed in 2006, and while not quite as memorable as the first, it produced a huge, cathartic moment when ECW original Rob Van Dam toppled John Cena to become WWE Champion.

Heyman was installed as ECW’s Brand Representative when WWE attempted to revive the company in May 2006, with Heyman playing a key role on air and off. One Night Stand wouldn’t have been half as special without him, and his worked shoot promo on the WWE roster was one of the entire angle’s biggest highlights. He eventually left WWE following a dispute over the horrendous December to Dismember pay-per-view, and didn’t return until 2012.
