The Miz And Dean Ambrose Join WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Match
The current and former Intercontinental Champion announce their participation on Smackdown.
Last week on Smackdown, Dean Ambrose defeated The Miz to win his second Intercontinental Championship. This week, it was announced that the two men would face off at the Royal Rumble - along with 28 others. Both Ambrose and Miz officially entered the 2017 Royal Rumble bout.
The announcements were made on an episode of Ambrose Asylum, one which marked "The Lunatic Fringe's" first appearance since becoming a two-time Intercontinental Champion. After firing off some barbs at The Miz, he mentioned he would be in the Rumble bout. That brought out Miz, who accused Ambrose of devaluing both the title and the upcoming match, then revealed that he, too, would be in the Rumble. The two men eventually brawled, with Ambrose getting the better of it, but no Intercontinental Title rematch was announced.
The 2017 Royal Rumble airs live on the WWE Network on Sunday, January 29 at 8:00 PM ET. Ambrose and Miz are the 11th and 12th men announced for the Rumble bout, joining Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, The Undertaker, Baron Corbin, Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman, and Seth Rollins.
